Audio/video baluns provide an economical alternative to coaxial cables for long length audio/video installations. Baluns are able to maintain a critical 75Ohm impedance to audio/video devices while providing 100Ohm impedance to the cabling infrastructure. This balanced impedance allows the audio/video signals to travel with little to no degradation up to 300 feet over more affordable unshielded twisted pair Cat5 cabling (or up to 500 feet over Cat6 cable). When connected to the distribution hub, this receiver is able to receive Component Video, Digital Audio, Left/Right Audio and IR Emitter transmission over two common Cat5 cables. It features RCA jacks for audio, Component Video, and S/PDIF connections and a 3.5mm jack for IR Emitter connections. Indicator LEDs on the front confirm that a Component Video signal is present. Cable length equalizer circuitry is adjustable for optimum picture viewing. The transmitter unit (sold separately, PCC Item# 8501521) is required on the source end to complete the installation.
